With a long term interest in health I have completed many courses, trainings, workshops and retreats that have led me to the role of holistic health coach. My specialities now are Yoga, Aromatherapy and BodyTalk. All three respect the natural intelligence we have in our bodies and the body's own healing abilities. In all three we can attend to the body at different levels encompassing the physical, and the pyscho-spiritual. There's a time when one aspect needs to be addressed more than others and there are times when only addressing one aspect will not help. So I bring knowledge and experience from all the therapies I have studied to free the body/mind and to help people find a state of being well.
YOGA
I started practising yoga in 1989. At first it was a way to keep fit and to unwind from the pressures of working in multimedia. As time went on it became my therapy, my health coach, my personal development and now my third career. I started with Astanga Vinyasa yoga, and later discovered Scaravelli Inspired yoga. In 2002 -3 I trained with Sophy Hoare and John Stirk the leading exponents of this approach in this country and have been teaching since then. I regularly attend workshops and retreats with Diane Long who trained directly with Vanda Scaravelli for 23 years and is based in Italy.
I teach mainly small groups, and one to one.
I have classes in South East London and I also teach in the City and Canary Wharf and on retreats abroad.
AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy became my passion in early 1990s and I have completed many courses and workshops since then, exploring different approaches to the use of Essential Oils, including Chinese Medicine, and different kinds of bodywork that complement the oils, including massage and acupressure. All my teachers have inspired in me a love and respect for the potency of Essential Oils, in particular Gabriel Mojay of the Institute for Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, who wrote 'Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit' and Dr Penoel in France who introduced me to Quantum Aromatherapy in 2009.
I work locally in South East London and on retreats abroad.
BODYTALK
In 2003 -20005 I set up a yoga retreat in Cyprus. I lived alone up in the hills behind Coral Bay and on the next hill I discovered one of the senior European teachers for BodyTalk. Before long I became a convert and qualified as a BodyTalk practitioner myself. BodyTalk introduced me to Quantum Physics and the new model of healthcare that is evolving as a result of research in this field. It perfectly complements the work I do with Essential Oils and my yoga practice. I have a local BodyTalk practice in South East London.
